RTC Employee Killed By Son?

The alleged perpetrator may have murdered his father over a dispute about property.
Hyderabad | 19th October 2010
An RTC employee was found murdered in a lodge under Governorpet police station.

According to Inspector S Prasad Rao, the victim Balagangadar Tilak, believed to be 56-year-old, was working as a helper in the RTC bus depot in Rajahmundry, and was a resident of Kovuru in West Godavari district.

Earlier, the victim was arrested in a case of marrying a minor girl by producing fake documents, which came to light by an agitation by a women's welfare organisation.

On October 16, he, along with his son Swamy (24), visited Vijayawada and booked a room in Pecso Lodge on Bandar Road.

On Monday morning, staff of the lodge grew suspicious after a foul smell started to emanate from the room. They opened the door to find Balagangadar Tilak lying lifeless on the bed.

The police reached the spot and shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy.

Police believe that Swamy might have murdered his father over a dispute about property by snuffing out his life with the help of a pillow.

A case has been booked under section 302 IPC against Swamy, and efforts are on to nab him.
