Bhanu Kiran, the main accused in the Maddelacheruvu Suri murder case, was released from prison today.
After almost 12 years of incarceration, Kiran was released from the Chanchalguda jail in the city after his recent bail from the Supreme Court.
A trial court had sentenced him to life imprisonment in the Suri murder case, and that led to Kiran being lodged in Chanchalguda jail. He had approached the High Court seeking the quashing of the trial court order and sentence, but the High Court rejected his appeal. He then approached the Supreme Court, which finally gave him bail on October 25 until the final disposal of his appeal.
The case of the life imprisonment will also come up for hearing on November 11.
Bhanu Kiran is the main accused in the murder case of Maddelacheruvu Suri in January 2011. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in December 2018 by a Nampally court. Suri himself was the accused in the murder case of late leader and TDP MLA Paritala Ravi.
