RTC Bus Fares To Be Revised

In view of backlash from all quarters and from across the state, the government is now considering revising the bus fares of RTC, whose management had taken an abrupt decision to steeply hike the fares.

Transport minister Satrucherla said the fare hike was too steep, and that the enormous rise was bound to cause commotion in the state. He said neither he nor Rosaiah was informed prior to the apparently independent decision of the RTC management, and that the government would take necessary steps to reduce the charges. He said an announcement would be made on the issue tomorrow.
