RTC Bus Fare Hike Prompts Strikes

RTC ‘X’ Roads is witnessing dharnas and protests against the sudden and steep hike of RTC bus fares. Workers of several parties are protesting there, and BJP politicians Bandaru Dattatreya and Kishen Reddy took part in the dharna staged outside Bus Bhavan. The CPI, too, staged a rally in Narayanaguda.

RTC employees are up in arms as well saying their wage hike should not be tied up with rise in passenger fares. They said that people will now move towards autorickshaws and private services.

In Nalgonda, several people are out on the roads in a rally, where the CM's effigy was burnt.
