RTC Reduces Bus Fares

Government revises fares after widespread backlash against APSTRC’s unilateral decision to hike them

From this midnight, the revised RTC fares will come into effect, minister Satrucherla said. The minimum fare for Pallevelugu buses has come down from Rs. 6 to Rs. 4, that of express buses has come down to Rs. 10, and that of city buses has come down to Rs. 4.

Yesterday, the APSRTC management had taken a unilateral decision to hike prices, and the move sparked off vehement protests among citizens and politicians alike.
