In a heart-warming gesture, the TRS government has extended financial aid of Rs 10 lakh to Dr Kolluri Chiranjeevi, a prominent activist of the Telangana movement in the 1960s and the 2000s, to help him cover his medical expenses.
The decision was taken after IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao heard about Chiranjeevi's health problems, and inquired about the same from his family members.
The activist is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gachibowli and has reportedly been put on ventilator support.
The family expressed their gratitude to KTR for his timely help.
Health Minister Etala Rajender also called on Chiranjeevi and his family. He also met the doctors treating the activist, and instructed them to look after him well.
The TRS regime has been in the headlines for its magnanimous gestures in the past as well. Just last month, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao offered monetary help to a person suffering from severe kidney problems.
The beneficiary, a man named Mahesh, had reportedly been suffering from renal problems for a long time, and required a transplant urgently. Hearing about the matter, the CM
gave the patient's family Rs 10 lakh to help them cover the costs of the procedure
