In a magnanimous gesture, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today offered monetary help to a person suffering from severe kidney problems.
The beneficiary, a man named Mahesh, is the son of farmers Lachhaiah and Suguna of Siddipet district's Gajwel town. He has reportedly been suffering from kidney problems for some time now, and requires a kidney transplant urgently.
His family however was not being able to pay for the treatment and the transplant, and so the patient had approached local councillor Gangishetti Chandana Ravinder to ask him for help.
The councillor, in turn, brought the matter to the notice of Finance Minister T Harish Rao and state Forest Development Corporation chief Vanteru Pratap Reddy, who then appealed to the CM to help Mahesh.
After hearing about the family's precarious economic situation from the two leaders, KCR responded immediately, and gave the patient a cheque of Rs 10 lakh for his treatment, on humanitarian grounds.
The cheque was handed over to the patient's family by Harish Rao and Pratap Reddy in the presence of Gajwel Municipal Chairman Rajamouli and Deputy Chairman Jakiuddin, and local TRS leaders Raju, Kishan Reddy, Nawaj Mera and Mahesh Goud.
On receiving the cheque, the overwhelmed family extended their thanks to the CM, Harish Rao and Pratap Reddy.
