KTR Urges CS To Declare Health Emergency Over Dengue

Despite the government's claims of no dengue fatalities, KTR noted that newspapers reported five deaths from dengue in a single day.
Hyderabad | 26th August 2024
BRS Working President K T Rama Rao today voiced his concern over the recent reports of dengue deaths in the State.

Despite the government's claims of no dengue fatalities, KTR noted that newspapers reported five deaths from dengue in a single day.

"Today there are reports of three more dengue deaths. Who is hiding this data and why?" he asked on X, tagging the newspaper reports to his post.

He also alleged that many government hospitals were overcrowded, with three or four patients per bed, and a shortage of medicines.

He urged Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari to address the situation urgently and declare a health emergency in the State.

Additionally, KTR stressed the importance of ensuring the availability of blood platelets for treating dengue patients.

He also emphasized the need for intensified sanitation drives in villages and towns, and called for a comprehensive awareness campaign across the State.
