Former Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday took serious objection to Congress Working Committee member G Venkataswamy's comments on Sonia Gandhi, wherein he had demanded her to relinquish her post.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, the former CM condemned Venkataswamy's remarks and demanded that he withdraw his comments immediately and apologise to Sonia Gandhi.
Rosaiah said that the senior Congress leader, after enjoying various positions in the Congress, forgot the party principles and was now making baseless allegations against Sonia Gandhi and her leadership.
"Kaka should not have made such serious remarks against Sonia Gandhi's leadership, considering his seniority and position in the CWC. The remarks are not suitable to his position," said Rosaiah.
"If he has any objections over Congress' alliance with the Praja Rajyam Party, he could have raised those in the party fora instead of issuing statements to the media and damaging the party's image and Gandhi's personal image," he stated.
Rosaiah also asked as to why Venkataswamy had not raised objections to Sonia Gandhi's candidature as the party President during the party's plenary session.
