Suspended from the party he had served for well over 2 decades, irate Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Ambati Rambabu on Thursday lashed out against his fellow party leaders by saying that they might have misled the high command.
Talking to media persons at Somajiguda Press Club, Ambati said that he would soon write a letter to In-Charge of Party Affairs in Andhra Pradesh Veerappa Moily, seeking details of the reason behind the reports that he was suspended from the party. He said that he would also like to know that if the reports of his suspension were true, then what the period of his suspension was.
He said that he would also seek revocation of his suspension orders in his letter, though he had not received any letter of suspension yet.
He said that only his friends and the media had informed him about his suspension from the party he had served for so long. He took the opportunity to say that he had never violated party discipline, nor had he aspired for any post.
Ambati said, "I was given till July 31 by the Congress Party Disciplinary Committee to explain my so-called 'outburst' against Chief Minister K Rosaiah."
He pointed out that that he was served with a show-cause notice on July 9 over his statement against Rosaiah, and that he had appeared before the disciplinary committee on July 12, where he was informed of the fortnight's time.
