All opposition parties have unanimously demanded that the suspension of the TDP MLAs from the Telangana Legislative Assembly for the entire budget session be revoked.
Raising the issue in the House, BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman said that it was wrong to keep one of the main opposition parties out of the House during the budget session.
He reminded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had promised to review the decision on the suspension of the TDP MLAs. However, no decision had been taken so far although the TDP MLAs had already apologised.
Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy, CPI MLA Ravindra Kumar and CPM legislator Sunnam Rajaiah too demanded that the suspension of the TDP MLAs be revoked immediately.
While welcoming the demand made by the opposition parties, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy alleged that the TDP MLAs were trying to misuse the House to push their personal agendas.
He said that their suspension from the House for entire budget session was not unprecedented, and claimed that some MLAs of Maharashtra had faced suspension for even two years.
Finance Minister Etela Rajender alleged that the TDP MLAs had insulted the National Anthem and tried to hold the House to ransom. However, he said that Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary should take a decision on the issue.
Later, the Speaker announced that he would take a decision in this regard soon. (INN)
