The suspension of two TDP members - Revanth Reddy and S Venkata Veeraiah - from the Telangana Assembly for rest of the budget session was very strange, said Congress Legislature Party deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy today.
Reacting to the action against the two MLAs by the TRS government for their interruption of the Governor's speech, Reddy said that the people in the entire state were silently watching the arm-twisting methods of the government, and would give a fitting reply at an appropriate time.
Reddy claimed that there were indeed many lies in the Governor's speech, especially with regard to the filling of government job vacancies, and that the speech had no mention of the much-trumpeted double bedroom houses scheme. There were also no mentions of the NREGS, ST/SC sub-plan and 12% reservation for Muslims. All of these made the protests quite legitimate, he said.
The former minister also said that protests by opposition members against the government's questionable actions were common in a democratic country, but that the KCR government was functioning like a dictatorship.
