Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today said that the State government would sanction special funds for the construction of a Dhyana Mandir, and would also extend all possible help to spread the message of Lord Buddha to everyone in society.
The Chief Minister on Thursday visited the Mahabodhi Buddha Vihara at Mahendra Hills, Secunderabad, and participated in a programme to mark the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the visit gave him immense pleasure due to its spiritual touch.
"At the age of 29, Gauthama Buddha started preaching peace after relinquishing power and kingdom. The Buddha's doctrine has stayed alive for the last 2,500 years. I am also quite inspired by the message of the Buddha, with his suggestion that every work should be done like meditation especially having a lot of influence on me," Reddy said.
He also expressed concern over intolerance and jealousy growing in society, and differences and emotions dominating people today.
"Today, India needs to follow the Buddha's message. As an individual and also on behalf of the State government, I will extend all possible help to spreading the message of the Buddha to everyone in society. This government is yours and the Telangana government respects the Buddhist monks," the CM said.
