Forces Trying To Obstruct Palamuru Development: CM
He expressed concern over the 'historic neglect' the district had faced under previous administrations.
Hyderabad | 10th November 2024
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today attended the Kurumurthy Swamy jathara in Ammapuram village, Palamuru (Mahabubnagar) district. He then laid the foundation stone for the constructions of a ghat road and an elevated corridor near the temple, a project estimated at Rs 110 crore.
Speaking at a public meeting later, the CM alleged that certain forces were attempting to obstruct the development of Palamuru district. Expressing concern over the "historic neglect" the district had faced under previous administrations, he urged the opposition parties to enable the district, which had contributed 12 MLAs, 2 MPs and a Chief Minister to the State, to thrive under his administration.
He also assured the people that as a native of Palamuru himself he would not let them down, and would get all the pending irrigation projects completed. He also pledged training and employment opportunities for the youth, and announced that the Amara Raja Group had committed to creating 2,000 jobs.
Reddy also said that it was his responsibility to improve the education, healthcare and employment options in Palamuru, as well as to build high-quality BT roads for the villages and hamlets across the district. He directed senior officials to prepare estimates for constructing these roads.
Acknowledging the lack of basic amenities at the Kurumurthy temple, he said that if the district Collector submitted a comprehensive report on the temple's requirements, the necessary funds would be allocated to elevate the temple into a pilgrimage site like Tirupati.
He also reiterated his commitment to bringing the Krishna river waters to Makthal, Narayanpet and Kodangal to revitalize the district.
The CM expressed disappointment over the past governments' "inaction" on projects and industries in Palamuru. He pointed out that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had held office twice with Palamuru's support, and alleged that despite that he had failed to develop the district, and had neglected all sectors. He said that people were migrating from the district due to the backwardness and the lack of development, and that migration had become a pressing issue in the area.
Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Damodar Raja Narasimha, Congress MLAs and other elected representatives accompanied the CM to the jathara.
