Revanth Reddy Hostile Towards Hindus: Etala Rajender

The BJP MP claimed that the Congress had been exhibiting a culture of hatred towards Hindus ever since it came to power.
Hyderabad | 22nd October 2024
BJP MP Etala Rajender today accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of being hostile towards Hindus and Hindu institutions in the State.

Addressing the media at the State BJP office, Rajender claimed that right since it came to power, the Congress had been exhibiting a culture of hatred toward Hindus, and had failed to control those who incited communal hatred.

"In the Congress regime, no attempt is being made to rein in religious extremists; instead, they are sheltered and nurtured. The party has always prioritized vote-bank politics over security, and is expectedly labelling those who raise concerns about attacks on Hindu temples as anti-social, fanatics and miscreants. This reflects the party's vile culture," he said.

He further claimed that the Congress had historically instigated communal riots, even when it came to changing chief ministers in the States where it was in power.

Rajender cited the 1978 communal riots in Hyderabad following the Congress government's handling of the Rameeza Bi murder case, which resulted in widespread violence and the loss of hundreds of lives. He also alleged that similar communal riots occurred in 1982-83 under the Congress rule, with hundreds more lives lost.

He also claimed that prior to 2014, terrorists routinely spilled blood in Hyderabad. He listed several bombings in Hyderabad, including those at Mecca Masjid and at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat in 2007, alleging that hundreds were killed in communal violence during the Congress' 10-year rule in Telangana.

He also claimed that the aftermath of these incidents led to heightened security measures, making it impossible to enter crowded areas without facing metal detectors.

He criticized the State government's failure to control communal rioters, and accused it of wrongfully targeting BJP leaders who peacefully protested against such attacks.

Rajender urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to reconsider his stance toward opposition leaders and the Hindu community, and warned that such attitudes were inappropriate. He called on the government to dismantle conspiracies by anti-social elements immediately.

Rajender praised the Narendra Modi government's strong stance against terrorism.
