Revanth Reddy Terms Jagga Reddy Key Party Leader

TPCC president A Revanth Reddy today reacted on the issue of the party MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy, also known as Jagga Reddy.

He said that he was aware of the issue, and that the party elders were speaking with Jagga Reddy and would extend total support for him. He also added that the MLA had sought an appointment with the party high command.

He asserted that Jagga Reddy was a key party leader, and that the MLA was very close to him personally, too. It was a family issue, and the party would resolve it internally, he said.

He asked Jagga Reddy to not get demotivated by the false social media posts against him, and said that that would only give more power to his (Jagga Reddy's) opponents and bolster their confidence to carry out their false campaigning. He said that another veteran leader of the party V Hanumantha Rao had also been targeted along with Jagga Reddy, and that he (Revanth Reddy) too had faced similar false social media campaigns in the past.

He claimed that preliminary investigation by the police had shown that a follower of TRS MLC P Kaushik Reddy was behind the false campaign against Jagga Reddy and VHR, and that the Congresss would lodge a complaint with the cybercrime police against all those who had carried out false publicity on the social media about the two leaders.

The TPCC chief expressed his condolences over the sudden demise of AP minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy. He said that Goutham Redy was his close friend, and that the latter's father former MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy had played a crucial role in the Congress.
