CM Meets Rahul Gandhi, Discusses Cabinet Expansion

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today called on Congress leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed the cabinet expansion and several key issues related to the Telangana Congress with Gandhi.

Later, in a chat with media persons, Reddy said that he had fully explained the caste census in Telangana to Gandhi, and had told him that the census was conducted in a completely scientific manner.

"There will be a public meeting in Telangana on the caste census, and I have requested Rahul Gandhi to attend it," he said.

The Chief Minister accused the opposition parties of deliberately making a fuss over the caste census in Telangana, and said that the census was carried out not with a political agenda but from a public welfare perspective.

"There was no error in the caste census. I have adhered closely to the guidance provided by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. We will introduce a resolution in the Assembly and submit a bill to the Parliament," Reddy said.

The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to discuss the issue of the BRS MLAs who had switched to the Congress. He said that waiting for the Supreme Court's decision regarding the MLAs was important, and criticised BRS working president K T Rama Rao for "misleading" the people about the disqualification petition even before the court's ruling.

Reddy also asked the political affiliations of Sabitha Indra Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, inquiring about the parties under which they won elections and served as ministers.

"While some may disagree with me, and others may not accept me, I am committed to fulfilling my duties. I have made promises to the people on behalf of the Congress, and they will hold me accountable if I fail to deliver," the Chief Minister concluded.
