Revanth Reddy Slams KCR For Misleading Farmers During His Tenure
The CM alleged that during the BRS government's tenure, KCR had himself cultivated 150 acres of paddy in his farmhouse after telling the farmers not to raise paddy.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy slammed former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao for "misleading" the farmers of the State, and alleged that during the previous government's tenure, KCR had himself cultivated 150 acres of paddy in his farmhouse after telling the farmers not to raise paddy.
Participating in the debate on the motion of thanks for the Governor's speech in the Assembly today, the Chief Minister said that the previous BRS government had robbed the farmers in the name of commissions, but that KCR had managed to get a support price for his paddy produce grown at his farmhouse.
He also criticised the former chief minister for failing to complete the Palamuru - Rangareddy irrigation project during his tenure, and asked KCR why he had developed a grudge against the people of Palamuru district.
"Also, if the previous government had implemented the farmers' crop insurance, farmer suicides would not have happened. The previous government paid Rs 5 lakh per farmer's death, but did not implement crop insurance," Reddy alleged.
He also said that Telangana was 25th in farmer income, and also that the State was not at the top in terms of per capita power consumption as claimed by the BRS.
