South-Indian acting phenomenon Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills today after his blood pressure levels shot up and recorded severe fluctuations.
Following the incident, the hospital issued a statement saying that the actor would be kept under observation till his blood pressure stabilised.
Hospital authorities also dissuaded any well-wishers from visiting him, and reassured them that his daughter was with him, and that he was being looked after well by a specialist.
After the news broke, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan reportedly called the hospital authorities to enquire after the star's health.
Later in the evening, another hospital bulletin revealed that Rajinikanth was doing well and would be discharged tomorrow.
The announcement left scores of concerned fans feeling relieved.
Rajinikanth, who turned 70 this month, has been in the city since December 14 for the shooting of Tamil film Annaatthe.
The actor underwent a Covid-19 test on December 22 after some technicians on the sets of his film tested positive for the virus earlier this week. However, he tested negative, and opted to undergo self-quarantine.
