Jagan Trying To Impress BJP: Cong
Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao has stated that Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was making baseless allegations against Sonia Gandhi in order to gain the BJP's favour.
Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Friday stated that YSR Congress Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was making baseless allegations against Congress President Sonia Gandhi in order to curry favour with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Talking to media persons at his residence in Amberpet, the senior Congress leader stated that Jagan was maligning Sonia Gandhi with an agenda.
However, Rao said that people of the Kadapa constituency would not believe Jagan's words, and would teach him a fitting lesson in the by-elections.
Condemning the claims made by Jagan that a few television channels including ETV, TV9 and ABN have launched a malicious campaign against him to lessen his chances of winning the by-elections, Rao said that the state was witnessing a bad period due to the YSR Congress Party President, and not due to the electronic media.
Stating that the BJP was against religious reservations from its inception, the senior Congress leader recalled that even former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was not able to announce 6% quota for the minorities during his tenure.
The Congress leader also wondered aloud as to why the BJP was not raising its voice against the rampant corruption activities of Jagan.
"It is an insult for a national-level party like the BJP to state that it has no base in Kadapa," Rao stated.
Demanding that Jagan declare his "true" properties and assets, the MP said that the Congress members are ready to file petitions in Court if he fails to declare the actual worth of his assets.
"The Congress members have substantial evidence to produce before the courts on Jagan's illegal assets and properties," Rao stated. (INN)
