Denying that his party had anything to do with Jagan, BJP leader Vidyasagar Rao has asked people to vote against the Congress and the TDP in the Kadapa by-elections.
Denying that his party had anything to do with YSR Congress Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vidyasagar Rao on Friday called upon people to vote against the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the by-elections to the Kadapa and Pulivendula constituencies.
Rao said that he did not understand why Jagan had mentioned the BJP during his speech, and clarified that his party does not have any secret understanding with him.
Pointing out that that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu, who had once been a supporter of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre, was now working against the interests of the BJP, the senior politician called on voters to defeat both the TDP and Congress candidates. He expressed confidence that the people in the Kadapa constituency would reject the Congress party outright.
Rao also claimed that Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President D Srinivas had not learnt a lesson despite losing twice consecutively in the by-elections held in Nizamabad.
The senior politician also predicted that the ramifications of a loss in Kadapa would be so widespread that both the central and the state governments would collapse once the by-elections results were declared. (INN)
