Probe NREGS Funds Usage: TDP

Telugu Desam Party MLA S Venkata Veeraiah, on Tuesday, accused the state Cabinet ministers of misappropriation of funds meant for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Talking to reporters at NTR Trust Bhavan, the Satupalli MLA said that the central government has been releasing about Rs. 1,200 crore for the scheme, but that ministers have been siphoning off a major share of these funds.

Veeraiah alleged that even the District Collectors were being kept in dark about the utilisation of funds, and that Congress leaders have total control over these funds. (INN)
