Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today attended the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in New Delhi.
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge chaired the meeting at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters at Indira Bhawan. The meeting was attended by around 80 senior leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Digvijay Singh, Meira Kumar, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Ashok Gehlot, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other special invitees.
The meeting focused primarily on an extensive discussion on the shortcomings of the new law that changed the name of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G-RAM-G).
A plan of action was also discussed for a nationwide protest against the renaming of the scheme, which was earlier named after Mahatma Gandhi.
