The Telugu Desam Party on Saturday demanded that the government order a high-level probe against ministers who have allegedly received bribes from the liquor mafia in the state.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP MLA Motkupalli Narasimhulu demanded that the state government order a CBI probe into allegations that some ministers and officials have links with the liquor mafia.
He said that the Anti-Corruption Bureau's raids on the liquor syndicate have clearly exposed that ministers receive bribes to the tune of Rs. 2,000 crore.
He alleged that the government is playing with the lives of thousands of people in order to mobilize funds for populist schemes.
TDP MLA Bojja Gopala Krishna Reddy demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy resign from his post owning moral responsibility for alleged nexus between his cabinet ministers and the liquor syndicate.
Another MLA, Mandava Venkateswara Rao, demanded that the government disclose the details of the ACB raids on the liquor syndicate. (INN)
