The Telugu Desam Party, on Sunday, alleged that the state government was diverting funds meant for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Tribes, to the by-elections.

Talking to reporters at the NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP MLA Motkupalli Narasimhulu said that the state government has diverted Rs. 4 crore to Rs. 12 crore meant for different welfare schemes of SCs and STs, to other purposes, in view of the next by-elections.

Narasimhulu demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy take immediate steps to stop the diversion of the funds. Else, the TDP would hold massive protests against the state government across the state, he warned. (INN)
