Priority To Poorest in Indiramma Housing Scheme: CM
Reventh Reddy suggested that the priority be given in the order of physically challenged, agricultural laborers, landless people and sanitation workers.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today suggested to officials that the poorest of the poor - in the order of physically challenged, agricultural labourers, landless people and sanitation workers - be given priority in the allocation of Indiramma houses.
The CM conducted a review of the Indiramma Housing Scheme at his residence this evening and ordered officials to take necessary precautions, as priority had been wrongly given to those who possessed their own land in the first phase. He also directed village secretaries and the mandal-level officials to be held accountable in this regard by using the available technology.
He also instructed officials to ensure that there were no shortcomings in the functioning of the Indiramma Housing mobile app, and that the beneficiaries should not face any difficulty at any stage. He also warned officials that no mistakes should be made at the department level.
Reddy also told officials that beneficiaries should be allowed to construct additional rooms in the allotted Indiramma houses if they wished to. He also suggested that steps be taken to provide a special quota for tribals and ITDAs in the scheme.
Senior officials were also told to strengthen the housing department to ensure the effective implementation of the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
Minister for Housing Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Chief Minister's Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Chandrasekhar Reddy, Housing Secretary Dr Jyoti Buddha Prakash, Special Secretary V P Gautam and others were present at the meeting.
