BRS working president K T Rama Rao today accused the Congress government of looting Rs 170 crore of public funds in the name of tenders for the Kakatiya Textile Park.
KTR made this allegation while distributing sewing machines to women under the auspices of the Pochampally Foundation in Parakala, Warangal district.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR announced that he would raise the issue of corruption in Parakala during the Assembly session. He said that although 3,000 houses were sanctioned to women in Parakala under the Grihalakshmi scheme, the Congress government failed to allocate the houses to the rightful beneficiaries. He vowed to continue fighting until all 3,000 beneficiaries received their due.
KTR also once again accused Congress leaders of deceiving the public with false promises under their pre-election six guarantees. He alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy cheated women by promising universal pensions, and that the CM owed Rs 50,000 to each woman in the State. He also criticised the delay in providing Rs 15,000 per acre under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, and said that the benefit was delayed by two months and was being selectively distributed only when elections were near.
KTR also lamented the situation of farmers, speaking of how while traveling to attend the meeting in Parakala he witnessed farmers lining up for fertilizers in multiple locations. He said that people never had to stand in queues for fertilizers during the BRS regime, and criticised the Chief Minister for failing to ensure timely supply of urea. He alleged that the Congress government had no love lost for farmers, and focused only on projects that yielded commissions.
KTR concluded that a wise choice in the local body elections would help bring in better efforts and the implementation of key welfare schemes, and appealed to the public not to fear the Congress and support BRS leaders in the elections.
