Referring to the attempt to commit suicide case of Kakatiya Medical College PG medical student Preethi, State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today alleged that it was a case clear case of love jihad in Telangana.
Addressing media persons at Maha Sakti amma vaari temple in Karimnagar, Bandi claimed that some persons were targeting Hindu girls and harassing them in the name of love, and that these persons were receiving funds from foreign countries in a big way.
He demanded that the State government order an inquiry by a sitting judge of the state High Court into the issue.
Bandi claimed that Preethi had attempted suicide as she was unable to bear the ragging by a senior medical student of the college. However the local police were trying to take the case in a wrong direction by downplaying it and protect the accused by registering simple IPC sections, and the authorities of the State government were delaying action in the issue in the name of providing the best treatment to the victim in order to calm down agitating activists of various student organisations, he said.
He said that there was now a pattern of the State government was trivialising serious issues - just this week, government officials had said in the case of the four-year-old boy who was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs that the dogs had attacked the boy as they could not find mutton to feed themselves.
He lamented that CM K Chandrashekar Rao had remained silent in both the incidents.
