Popular Telangana folk singer Mangli has landed in legal trouble.
Her birthday celebrations were held in a grand manner until midnight on Wednesday at Tripura Resort, located on the outskirts of Irlapalli village in Chevella mandal. Around 50 people attended the event, including Mangli's family members, close friends, and people from the film industry.
A large quantity of foreign liquor was reportedly served to the guests, without obtaining permission from the Excise Department to serve liquor at a commercial establishment. A DJ was also reportedly playing loud music without police permission.
Acting on a tip-off, the Chevella police raided the resort during the party and seized several bottles of foreign liquor. As part of the operation, 48 attendees were tested for marijuana consumption, and one tested positive, but claimed that he had had the substance four days back.
The police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against Mangli and the party organizers and have launched an investigation.
