Inter-State Drug Peddling Racket Busted In Hyderabad
The accused were identified as Mahesh Sarem (28), a drug peddler; and Mahipal (19), a gas mechanic; both hailing from Rajasthan.

The L B Nagar Zone SOT in coordination with the Neredmet police today arrested two inter-state drug peddlers involved in the illegal trafficking and distribution of heroin.
The accused were identified as Mahesh Sarem (28), a drug peddler; and Mahipal (19), a gas mechanic; both hailing from Rajasthan.
The police seized 190 grams of heroin, a bike, two mobile phones, one SIM card, a small weighing machine, adhesive tape and other items, cumulatively valued at Rs 23 lakh, from them.
According to the police, Mahesh had developed an acquaintance with one Samsuddin, a drug peddler residing in Chainpura, Rajasthan. Mahesh purchased 200 grams of heroin from Samsuddin for Rs 1,00,000.
On January 10, 2025, Mahesh arrived in Hyderabad by train and stayed at his friend Mahipal's residence in Sainik Nagar, R K Puram, Neredmet. He informed Mahipal about the heroin transaction, and the duo decided to sell the drug to customers at higher prices. Since then, Mahesh had been distributing heroin to various individuals.
To conceal their activities, Mahesh and his associates used different methods, such as booking rides on Rapido, Ola and Porter to deliver parcels to locations far from the customers' original addresses.
It is worth noting that drug peddling is on the rise in the city. Since 2024, the Rachakonda police have seized drugs worth Rs 88,33,98,505.
