The police today raided the houses of BJP candidate for the Dubbaka Assembly constituency seat Raghanundan Rao and his family members.
They seized Rs 18.65 lakh from the residence of Rao's uncle during the raids.
The raids were conducted simultaneously at 8 residences, of Rao and his family members.
Angered at the raids, Rao staged a protest along with his party workers.
He asked the police under which section of the law the raids were being conducted.
He alleged that the police also did not allow his wife to speak with him.
He also claimed that the police were working as servants of the ruling TRS.
He said that the raids by the police would not deter the spirits of the BJP workers, and would in fact give an impetus to their ongoing election campaign.
