The MLA-elect of the Dubbaka Assembly constituency Raghunandan Rao flew to the temple town of Tirupati immediately after his victory and held special prayers before the presiding deity, Lord Venkateswara.
He had the darsan of the deity at 11 am today through the Rs 300 special darshan ticket.
Rao landed at the Renigunta airport of Tirupati in the morning, and was accorded a warm welcome by the local BJP leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that the victory of the BJP in Dubbaka should be an eye-opener for the Chief Ministers of the two Telugu-speaking states.
He alleged that the two CMs were implementing several anti-people policies and ruling their states in a unilateral manner, and that the result in Dubbaka was a sign that the people were angry with the rules of the two CMs.
He also said that the election result had proved that the people would always bless the leaders who worked for them and among them.
He added that the residents of Dubbaka had laid the foundation for a good beginning by voting for the BJP for their constituency. He said that the Dubbaka outcome could be repeated across the country if the leaders believed in the party.
