A day after Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy took a vow at the Bhagyalakshmi temple in Charminar to refute BJP MLA Eatala Rajender's allegations that he (Reddy) had taken Rs 25 crore from the BRS to throw the Munugodu by-election, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) also joined the duel over the episode, and termed both the Congress and the BJP leaders as thieves.
Speaking at a press conference, BRS MLC Padi Kaushik Reddy alleged that both Eatala Rajender and Revanth Reddy were working as brokers for their respective parties, and that they didn't have any character or morals.
"With clear evidence, I had disclosed that Eatala Rajender had given Rs 25 crore to Revanth Reddy for taking the support of the Congress in the Huzurabad by-election. The deal took place between the two leaders at Congress leader Vem Narender Reddy's son's wedding, and the amount changed hands at Legend Restaurant in the town. When I exposed the deal, Revanth Reddy was silent and didn't utter a single word. However, they are accusing each other now since things have gone sour between them," Kaushik Reddy said.
He dared Eatala to come to the Sri Rama temple in Ellantha Kunta in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency and take an oath that his (Kaushik Reddy's) claim was false.
