Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said that the State government was ready to hand over the construction works of the multi-purpose national Polavaram irrigation project.
Speaking to the media after inspecting the project works via a drone from the Durga ghat Command Control Room, Naidu said that the fibre grid, survey lines and flood lights for the irrigation project would be ready by September. The Centre would then release Rs. 1,700 crores to acquire the project from the State government as the project was given National Project Status, he said.
Speaking on the State government's recent tussle with the Opposition over development projects, the Chief Minister alleged that the YSR Congress Party and the Congress were creating hurdles to the State's progress. With the handing over of this project, these hurdles would be cleared, and AP and its neighbours could prosper, he added.
