Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today submitted a memorandum requesting Union Minister for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatreya to urge the Centre to expedite the process of releasing funds to Telangana for irrigation, water and other development projects for which funding had been committed during the Apex Council meeting in New Delhi.
The CM specifically asked the Union Minister to release funds for the development of the backward districts in the State.
Responding to this, Dattatreya promised that he would ensure that the funds for the same were released without further delay, and also that the projects stalled due to the disputes were restarted.
The union minister opined that the Prime Minister would definitely expedite the process as he was impressed by the development initiatives being undertaken by KCR, and also by Telangana's active contribution and interest towards national policy making in Parliament.
