Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today launched a scathing attack on the State Congress for "hatching conspiracies" to hinder welfare projects in the State.
Addressing a program at the Siddipet district, the minister took serious exception to some Congress leaders moving High Court against irrigation projects such as Mallanna Sagar.
Rao alleged that the Congress had filed cases with forged signatures of farmers who had committed suicide recently in Singaram and Vemulghat villages near the reservoir.
He ridiculed the Party leaders for providing false information to the court and to the people as well.
"We have proved several times that the Congress had filed cases based on misinformation and forgery. How can this fraud go neglected?" he asked.
The Congress regime was cooking up all these allegations because it itself had failed to fulfill its election promise of supplying waters to all the districts in the Telangana region; and now doesn't want us to fulfill ours' either, he claimed.
Speaking on Congress' claim that the TRS had failed to provide MSP (minimum support price) for Soybean and Paddy in the State, he slammed them and that was so only because the Centre had rejected their request for MSP. The two crops were under the Centre's ambit, he said.
