Panabaka Wants UT Status For Hyderabad

Panabaka said that she would raise the demand for a UT status for Hyderabad during the Group of Ministers' meeting with the Seemandhra Union Ministers.

Union Minister Of State For Petroleum Panabaka Lakshmi on Saturday demanded that Hyderabad be made a Union Territory after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons in Visakhapatnam, Panabaka said that she would raise the demand for a UT status for Hyderabad during the Group of Ministers' meeting with the Union Ministers from the Seemandhra region, on November 18.

She said that though the Congress Working Committee, in its resolution, has announced that Hyderabad would be the joint capital of both the states for a period of only 10 years, the GoM would be pressurised to convert the state capital into a Union Territory, if a demand is raised. (INN)
