V Hanumantha Rao said that Hyderabad should be the capital of Telangana state, without any strings attached.

Congress Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Thursday condemned Seemandhra leaders for seeking a Union Territory status for Hyderabad.

Describing Hyderabad as the "heart of Telangana", he said that the people of this region could not give away their heart to the Seemandhra leaders.

He said that Hyderabad should be the capital of Telangana state, "without any strings attached".

He added that any change in its status would not be acceptable to the people.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, VHR advised Seemandhra leaders to concentrate on building a new capital for their region than "eyeing" Hyderabad, which belongs to Telangana. (INN)
