Former minister Dr. P Shankar Rao on Friday demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy release a "White Paper" to prove his claim that the division of Andhra Pradesh would lead to a spurt in the naxal violence.
Talking to reporters here, Shankar Rao alleged that the CM has made a factually incorrect and misleading statement before the Group of Ministers on Telangana, to stop the ongoing process of formation of Telangana.
He said that the Maoists' violence is wrongly being used as a reason to instill fear among the people and to mislead the Centre.
He said that the CM's contention has been denied by former DGP V Dinesh Reddy himself.
Therefore, Shankar Rao said that the CM should come out in "White Paper" over the issue, if he is convinced about his claim.
He described Kiran Kumar Reddy as an "established liar", and alleged that "such a person could not be born in the next 100 years".
Stating that the CM might not be able to complete 3 years in office on November 25th, he demanded that the Congress High Command take a serious disciplinary action against Kiran Kumar Reddy, for speaking and taking a stand against the Congress Working Committee's decision over Telangana.
Shankar Rao also wrote letters to the Congress High Command, including party president Sonia Gandhi, requesting them to declare Rahul Gandhi as the party's Prime Ministerial candidate. (INN)
