Telangana Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy today denied allegations that he was linked to the owner of the building that collapsed at Nanakramguda on the night of December 8.
Reacting to the news, Mahender Reddy said that several people meet him on a daily basis since he was the transport Minister and was responsible for giving people permits. Claiming that he did not recognize the owner, he said that such allegations were baseless and were the Opposition's attempt at maligning the government.
Brushing aside the issue, he said that the State government would provide all necessary succour to the victims of the collapse, and their kin.
It is being alleged by a few persons in the political circle that the Minister allowed the illegal structure to be constructed, despite no clearance from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, since the building owner was his friend.
