Osmania University simmered with tension on Sunday, a day ahead of the Telangana Political JAC's "Koluvulakai Kotlata" (fight for jobs) meet, as an M Sc first year student committed suicide in the Maner Hostel bathroom.
The deceased student Murali belonged to Medak district.
TJAC chairman M Kodandaram, who was attending a preparatory meeting on Koluvulakai Kotlata in Mahabubnagar district on Sunday, rushed to the university. He interacted with the students on the campus.
University authorities as well as the police department remained tight-lipped about the entire suicide episode. However, students alleged that the police had replaced the original suicide note of Murali where he apparently complained about lack of government jobs with a fabricated one that said he was taking his life due to the stress of examinations. They also heckled the Vice-Chancellor S Ramachandram who came to the hostel.
