Old Intelligence Data Disappears From SIB Records?
The police have found that the old intelligence data gathered by them by sheer hard work had also been destroyed by the accused in the phone tapping case.
The sensational phone tapping scam committed allegedly by suspended DSP Praneeth Rao and his team members, including the head of the Intelligence Bureau Prabhakar Rao, has reportedly became a headache for the higher-ups of the police department.
In a fresh development, the police have now found that the old intelligence data gathered by them by sheer hard work had also been destroyed by the accused.
According to the police, the data contained the details of Maoists.
The accused Praneeth Rao destroyed 42 hard disks belonging to 17 computers of the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) of the State police department on December 4 last year.
IT experts are said to have concluded that there was no possibility of retrieving the lost data, including from the destroyed hard disks which were recovered from the Musi river.
In another development, the police have found that the accused had used a tool arranged by Convergence Innovation Labs for carrying out the illegal phone tapping. The directors of this lab are Paul Ravi Kumar, Boosi and Seevalli Godi. It was found that these directors were also acting as the CEOs of six more companies. The police are likely to interrogate them.
During his interrogation, Praneeth Rao reportedly revealed that his department had targeted the main leaders of various political parties during the Assembly elections and by-elections before that, for the phone tapping.
