A delegation of the opposition BRS leaders today met DGP Ravi Gupta and alleged that attacks were being made on BRS activists by Congress leaders across the State.
The BRS leaders told the DGP that attacks on and murders of their party activists had been happening in the Huzurnagar, Manakondur, Bhupalapalli and Kollapur Assembly constituencies, and that the police were registering false cases against the latter instead of on the attackers.
The BRS leaders specifically spoke with the DGP about the alleged attack on Bhuvanagiri ZP Chairman Sandeep Reddy on Monday by Congress activists in the presence of Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
The leaders appealed to the DGP to immediately stop the police from acting in a partisan manner and filing illegal cases against the BRS activists, and issue clear instructions to the police to act impartially instead of supporting the Congress leaders.
Among those who met the DGP were MP Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, MLC L Ramana, former MLAs Saidi Reddy, Bhaskar Rao and Korukanti Chander, Bhuvanagiri ZP Chairman Sandeep Reddy, Suryapet ZP Chairperson Deepika, BRSV President Gellu Srinivas Yadav, former chairmen of corporations Ravula Sridhar Reddy and Rakesh Kumar, and others.
