Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Venugopala Chary on Tuesday denied the rumours of his joining Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
The MLA made this statement at TDLP office in the wake of rumours spreading that he was joining TRS because of his close association with TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Venugopala Chary also lashed out at a section of the media and some leaders for targeting Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu unnecessarily, and demanding that he make his stand clear on Telangana statehood issue before the all-party meeting convened by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on January 6th in New Delhi.
He said that the TDP had reiterated earlier that it stood by Telangana state formation, and had mentioned it in election manifesto.
The MLA said that there was no crisis or any divergent view in the party on the Telangana state formation issue. He also said that if any crisis erupts, the TDP leadership was able enough to handle the situation efficiently.
