Telangana People Won't Believe Chandrababu Naidu Again: BRS

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Thursday came down heavily on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for trying to enter Telangana politics again in the name of the development of both the Telugu-speaking States.

Speaking with the media a day after the TDP successfully organised a massive public meeting led by Chandrababu Naidu in Khammam, several BRS leaders said that the Telangana people were not ready to believe the words of Naidu.

Ministers Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Harish Rao, Srinivas Goud and Koppula Eshwar, addressing the press conference, said that the Telangana region was neglected a lot when Naidu was the Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, and that all sections of the people had been suppressed during his tenure. Moreover, after the formation of Telangana State, Naidu as Chief Minister of AP had forcefully taken seven mandals and the Sileru power plant from Khammam district with the help of the BJP government at the Centre, once again deceiving the people of Telangana, they said.

"If Naidu really has love and affection for Khammam district, he should demand the returning of the seven 7 mandals and the Sileru power plant to Telangana," Ajay Kumar said.

Terming the TDP's public meeting as a small gathering, Ajay Kumar said that the people who had attended the meeting belonged to Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, and that the people of Khammam themselves didn't show any interest in attending the meeting.

Minister for Excise Srinivas Goud said that during the TDP regime in the united Andhra Pradesh, Naidu had harassed government employees a lot, and introduced workers with meagre salaries into the administration in the name of contract, time-scale and private systems, and had destabilised the entire administration through that.

Minister for Finance Harish Rao said, "As Chandrababu Naidu had been rejected by the people of Andhra Pradesh and has no political future, he is trying to enter Telangana politics, and is also planning to align with the BJP here. The Telangana people have not forgotten the harrowing experiences that they had faced during the tenure of the TDP government in the combined Andhra Pradesh, and they will not be able to believe his words again,"

Rao alleged that Naidu as Chief Minister of AP had done a lot of injustice to the Telangana region, and had also tried continuously to thwart the creation of Telangana State.

Rao said that film actor and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao was a unique leader in politics, and that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had also spoken about NTR's leadership qualities in the State Assembly, but that the current TDP led by Chandrababu Naidu was different from the original TDP floated by NTR.
