Vijayawada MP Ladapati Rajagopal on Monday reiterated that the Centre would never divide Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here, Rajagopal said that a few leaders were making speculative statements about the Centre conceding the demand for the formation of Telangana and that the possibility of the division of Andhra Pradesh was remote. He alleged that no serious discussions were going on at the Centre over the Telangana issue and that some leaders have been making statements only to gain mileage from media. "They [some political leaders] are trying to create a Telangana State through statements in the media," he said.
Earlier, Lagadapati along with PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana held a meeting with the leaders from Jaggaiahpet assembly segment at Gandhi Bhavan. A few TDP leaders including some corporators from Krishna district also joined the Congress party on the occasion. Botsa has reportedly assured the leaders that he would soon nominate the Krishna district incharge. (INN)
