Botsa Satyanarayana, who reached Delhi last evening, reportedly met AP's Congress Affairs in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad, and was discussed several issues with him, including the one concerning statehood for Telangana, for over 40 minutes. He reportedly briefed Azad on the situation with respect to statehood for Telangana, and had a discussion with him on the same.
Botsa is all set to meet several other leaders at the Centre today, and will reportedly have a hectic schedule.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that Botsa might have to watch out for his seat. In view of the upcoming elections, major organisational restructuring is being proposed in the Congress party. And the high command may well decide that a PCC Chief who is constantly butting heads with the Chief Minister could be a liability. Botsa has also reportedly managed to tick the AICC big guns off with the recent expulsion of 9 MLAs for their ties to YSRCP.
It has also been rumoured that Botsa might not have actually been invited to Delhi, but flew there himself to save face, and to guage his own position with the party.
As far as Telangana is concerned, while some say that the decision could be announced a day before the beginning of the budget session due to begin on the 21st of this month, a few others say that it could be put off till after. And, while Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari said yesterday that the all-important "T-decision" will take longer to make, what is clear is that discussions on it are going on at a furious pace.
