Overseas Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi is in the news yet again for flippancy with regard to the Telangana issue, this time, for likening the granting of a seperate state to making dosas.
"Telangana is more an issue of the media than of the people and politicians," he said to reporters in New Delhi, going on to add, with a flourish of his hand, "It will take time. It is not like making appadams and dosas."
Upon insistent demands by reporters of a statement on the status of the Telangana issue, he not-very-deftly evaded a direct reply by saying, "There is only one status. The demand is there. We must discuss it. That is the status. Consultations are happening everyday, and they will continue to happen."
Meanwhile, TDP MP Nama Nageshwara Rao feels that Congress is responsible for having made Telangana a more contentious issue than it was, and that it is now upto Congress and the Central government to untangle the mess it made.
Yet another TDP leader, Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, said that there is no way a Telangana state will ever be a reality, owing to a lack of unity amongst Telangana leaders.
