A Nampally court today rejected the bail petitions of Imandi Ravi, the administrator of the piracy website iBomma.
Ravi had approached the court seeking bail in five cases registered against him at the Hyderabad Cyber Crime police station. However, the police informed the court that the investigation was still underway. They also stated that Ravi held foreign citizenship and that there was a possibility of him fleeing the country if granted bail. After hearing the arguments, the court rejected the bail petitions.
Meanwhile, several crucial details have reportedly emerged during the interrogation of Ravi. Cybercrime police confirmed that Ravi obtained fake identity cards using the names and details of his erstwhile roommate Prahlad and two other individuals. He allegedly used his own photograph along with the names and details of Vellela Prahlad Kumar, Anjaiah and Kaliprasad. Some of these identity cards were obtained by applying with his photograph, while others were fabricated.
Ravi and Prahlad had met when Ravi was staying at a hostel in Ameerpet. Prahlad, who hails from Kadapa district, shared a room with Ravi at the hostel in 2017. During this period, Ravi allegedly obtained colour photocopies of Prahlad's Class 10 marksheet and Aadhaar card. He then used these documents to secure a driving licence and PAN card in Prahlad's name and subsequently opened a bank account. Ravi also allegedly created fake identity cards in the name of Anjaiah.
