A Nampally criminal court today granted five-day police custody of Immadi Ravi, the administrator of the iBomma movie-piracy website and the prime accused in the high-profile piracy racket that created a sensation across the Telugu States.
Cyber crime officials, who had sought a week-long custody, informed the court that Ravi's direct interrogation was essential to analyse technical evidence, digital networks, backend operations and other key links.
After examining the petition, the court approved five days of custody.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also turned its focus to the case, probing monetary transactions and foreign fund flows. Authorities expect more crucial details to emerge during the custody period.
Investigators are also examining others involved in the racket, including technical collaborators and platforms benefiting from piracy.
The case has drawn significant attention from the Telugu film industry, with producers and digital rights bodies closely monitoring developments.
